5/6 Heagney in the Kitchen

Ok...so the photos of this Kitchen/Garden class will reveal that nothing 'green' from the garden was used. However,  it was the week before Easter and the last day of Term 1, so what better way to celebrate than to make Portuguese Tarts?.

It was also a great excuse for pastry chef Jane Strode to teach the kids of 5/6H a few things about desserts, and to demonstrate how to finish meringue with a blowtorch!  Needless to say, there were no leftovers.  Click here for the recipe

The week before...we went japanese!

5/6 H rolled perfect vegetarian sushi and made some miso soup with tofu and fresh chives!
