About the Eco Warriors

At Crown Street Public School we have four Eco Warriors who are responsible for raising awareness of environmental sustainability to both the school and its community.

Each term the Eco Warriors meet and discuss what their environmental focus is and develop ways to involve the whole school in their plans.

Crown Street's Environmental Goals

This term the Eco Warriors are trying to promote the following initiatives:  Waste Free Wednesdays.

In Term 2 we introduced ‘Nude Food’ to Crown Street Public School. Students were encouraged to bring in ‘nude food’ lunchboxes, which meant no wrappers or plastic packaging are to be used. It was great to see children thinking about how they could be more ‘nude’ with their lunches and has created many discussions about how much waste we actually waste.

To ensure this ‘nude food’ idea is continued, the Eco Warriors are working on ‘Waste free Wednesdays’ for this term. Each Wednesday the Eco Warriors will be randomly patrolling lunchboxes and our weekly ‘Eco Warrior’ award will be given to the class with the most waste friendly lunches.
